Advocating for Mental Health Rights and Support
We pride ourselves on supporting the mental capacity of our clients, and work tirelessly to empower and support our users by delivering professional and comprehensive reports that you can rely on.
Our specifically designed services complement and support professional deputies and attorneys, and our passionate directors come from both social work and legal backgrounds, which enables Clear Guide to offer a uniquely specialised service.
Raising the Standards for Self-Funding
Our reports have been described as ‘invaluable’ by solicitors across the country, and ‘exemplary’ and a demonstration of ‘best practice’ by the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) visitors.
Clear Guide are devoted to raising standards for self-funders who often have the advantage of choice but fall into a gap in terms of professional social work advice and support.
The Clear Guide team believe that people should not be judged, disadvantaged or discriminated against because of their financial status. We strongly believe that everyone has a right to a fulfilling life, not just an existence.
I am a qualified social worker and the founding director at Clear Guide. I have devoted over 20 years of my career to supporting vulnerable adults, and I love what I do.
I am a visiting lecturer for local universities, a qualified practice educator for social work students and a dementia champion. I have worked and managed social workers in a range of settings including community mental health teams, psychiatric hospital settings, Worcestershire acute hospital and community hospital discharge teams, rehabilitation units and in generic community based social work teams.
My background has given me a wealth of experience working with people living with dementia, acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, learning disabilities and adults with poor mental health.
I find my work hugely rewarding and I particularly enjoy assessing capacity and empowering people to exercise their rights and to make decisions.
Every person is different, and I thoroughly enjoy the challenges my work brings.
I believe self-funding clients should have access to social work services when they need them, and you should not be disadvantaged because of financial status. I am determined that our tailored services for self-funding individuals continues to raise the usual standards people have come to expect from social work services.
Since leaving the local authority, I have specialised in working with solicitors and I have witnessed them being forced to step into the role of the social worker, working tirelessly to ensure their clients are supported and safe.
Clear Guide complements the role of the solicitor, allowing them to continue doing the good work they do with the assurance that their clients are receiving the support they need.
